Role Purpose

As a Human Resources Manager, you are responsible for managing the human resources function to meet the strategic business objectives. The role involves the Business development, implementation of strategies and policies of Human Resources, Profitability and Reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Strategic Business Development and Management

  • Aware of Malta’s labor laws / regulations and HR policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall     business strategy.
  • Planning for successful management of the overall HR department
  • Develop a good understanding of the Business, Region, and offered services.
  • Responsible for the timely and effective execution of recruitment services
  • Drive alignment between HR strategy and business goals.
  • Regularly share daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to HR activities.

HR Operations & Departmental Tasks

  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, and procedures across the organization.
  • Administering the formulation of recruitment, testing and selection policies and programs and ensuring the application of the equal opportunity principle.
  • Develop HR policy and procedures to drive excellent performance.
  • Managing tasks related to the personnel for the employees, which includes attendance, circulars, salaries, vacations, performance appraisal, incentives, etc.
  • Manage complex employee relations casework including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement, and redundancy.
  • Provide functional direction and ensure compliance throughout human resource management of all legal requirements.
  • Nurture a positive working environment.
  • Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
  • Ensure recruitment of high caliber employees to help achieve the business targets, within budgeted staffing plans.
  • Maintain a high level of effectiveness communication and implement annual objectives and budget for the Human Resources Department.

Team Management

  • Building and retaining a competent and professional team for the successful performance of the department
  • Managing and training the team for successful delivery of Services
  • Assessing the need for training and then designing and implementing training programs accordingly.
  • Responsible for the team’s performance and performance improvement
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.
  • Provide a sounding board for colleagues’ concerns, mediating solutions and initiating changes as needed.
  • Foster a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and colleague morale.
  • Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven working experience as HR Manager or another HR Executive
  • People oriented and results driven.
  • Ability to meet targets and assigned tasks.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Knowledge of the relevant computer systems and software programs including HR Smart software
  • Professional knowledge of best practices regarding personnel affairs including a good grip on Labor Laws.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff to achieve their full potential.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound decisions.
  • Fluent in English.

Education / Certifications

· Degree holder in Human Resources, Business Administration, or any other relevant Certification/field.

Experience

· 5-6 years’ previous work experience in any HR consultancy firm/ organization or company.
